The fourth annual  Socktober  drive is underway during the month of October, sponsored by the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church. Donations of new socks, underwear, hats, gloves and mittens for women and men, girls and boys will benefit the clients of three local non-profits: Pathways for Children, Younity and The Grace Center. Two local businesses, Nelsons of Gloucester and The John Tarr Store of Rockport, will participate with sales and pick-up bins. Essex and Rockport Unitarian Churches also have drop off bins, and the one at GUUC is twenty-four hours next to the middle Church Street entrance.
