Ingathering Sunday – Mingling the Waters

Even though we gather for services every Sunday during the summer, we often find that we don’t see each other as often as vacations and family call us elsewhere.  As with many faith traditions, Unitarian Universalists often designate an early September Sunday as Ingathering: a recognition that the community is coming together again and reconnecting.  It’s a long-standing Unitarian Universalist tradition on our Ingathering Sundays to bring water representing a meaningful moment in our recent lives: perhaps a heartfelt conversation, a gorgeous sunset, a special time with family or friends.

We invite you all to bring a tiny amount of water from a place or event that mattered to you over the summer.  During our worship this Sunday, we will pour our water into a common container, to represent the ways in which our lives are coming together again.  It’s a joyful moment: we hope you will attend and join in!
