UU and You: A Three-Session Introduction/Refresher to Unitarian Universalism
This course has been offered by the Gloucester UU Church's Religious Education Committee and the Director of Religious Education
About the Course
If you've ever stumbled a bit when trying to explain Unitarian Universalism to someone else — or you don't truly have a good senso of who we are, what we believe in and where we come from as a faith community — or you haven't found a way to explain church to your child — then this course might be just right for you.
The course meets three times to engage participants in a discussion of:
- Our Universalist and Unitaarian histories (including a look at our mother church in Gloucester)
- Our historic beliefs and values
- The Seven Principles as Pillars of our faith
- The guiding sources of the UU tradition, including Christianity, Judaism, Humanism and others
- Religious pluralism and liberalism in practice
- A personal credo, or statement of belief
